According to the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Filip Radulović, Air Montenegro is of national importance for Montenegro. Speaking about Airports of Montenegro.

– With all the peculiarities related to the geographical location and market business policy, Air Montenegro is of national importance and is crucial for the connection of Montenegro with the world. In accordance with the needs of travelers and the completion of the tourist offer of Montenegro, as a year-round tourist destination in development, the company is constantly working on expanding the fleet and destinations with which we connect our country – said the minister.

He reminded that in August of this year the company became a member of the International Air Transport Association IATA, which enables the establishment of code-share agreements and other international agreements.

– This winter, the company will fly to five destinations (Belgrade, Ljubljana, Zurich, Istanbul and Rome), of which, from December 15th, we will also be flying to Rome as a new destination to which we will be flying for the first time. Flights to Istanbul will take place from Podgorica and Tivat – he stated.

In order to expand the fleet and smoothly perform the planned flights, the company previously announced public invitations for the lease of three aircraft.

One plane will be leased for the period from January to March, and the other two will operate during the summer season, from April 1st to October 31st, 2024. On October 31st, the company signed an agreement on the lease of the Airbus A320 aircraft with the Croatian company Trade Air. It is a European operator, with significant references in the field of providing ACMI services and charter traffic, whose aircraft will operate on destinations from which increased passenger demand for Montenegro as a tourist destination is expected – said Radulović.

Air Montenegro will continue to make maximum efforts and contribute to the realization of positive economic results of the overall economy of the country. In this process, the role of the Government in defining the market policy and providing support to the company as a national air carrier is of particular importance, especially when it comes to the openness of the market and maintaining the balance of its competitiveness – he pointed out.
