Whether Hotel Mogren, located opposite the Old Town, will be leased to a global hotel chain or reconstructed at the expense of Budva Riviera will be decided by the Government. This was announced at a press conference by the President of the Board of Directors of HG Budva Riviera, Mijomir Pejović.

– At today’s board meeting, we will adopt an analysis of possible development directions for Hotel Mogren, which we will present to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Tourism. We expect to have a meeting with them during January and make a final decision. What I can say for sure is that we will initiate activities regarding Hotel Mogren next year – said Pejović.

Pejović believes that the best development path for Mogren would be to lease it to a global hotel chain.

– I would like to remind you that Budva, although the Montenegrin tourism metropolis, does not have a single hotel from a global hotel chain. In all coastal cities, you have global hotel brands. Bringing a global hotel brand to Budva Riviera would be of invaluable importance. They could ensure that the hotel operates for 12 months, even during the winter season. I won’t mention what that would mean for the city’s environment when we have high-paying guests. In the end, the decision will be made by the Government, whether we will finance it or lease it. We are ready for any option – emphasized Pejović.
