Montenegro among countries with the highest growth in tourism revenue

According to the quarterly reports of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Montenegro is among the countries that have achieved the best results in tourism this year.

The National Tourist Organization (NTO) stated that the second-quarter report of the UNWTO for this year highlights that Montenegro has achieved significant growth in the number of tourists compared to previous years and leads in terms of achieved results in tourism compared to many other destinations.

“According to this report, global travel during the first six months of this year was at 84% of the level in 2019, and only a few countries have recorded growth compared to 2019,” specified the NTO.

With a growth of 14% in the number of foreign visitors compared to 2019, Montenegro is among the countries that have recorded the highest growth in the number of tourists.

“According to available data, several destinations reported significant growth rates compared to 2019. Among them are Tanzania, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Serbia, Morocco, Iceland, Guatemala, Portugal, the United Arab Emirates, and French Polynesia,” the report states.

The good results of Montenegrin tourism have also been recognized in the third-quarter report of the UNWTO, where Montenegro stands out as one of the countries with the highest growth in tourism revenue during the first three quarters of this year compared to 2019.

“Several destinations have reported strong growth in tourism revenue during the first eight to nine months of this year, including Pakistan, Serbia, Turkey, Romania, Portugal, Latvia, Mauritius, Montenegro, and Morocco,” the report adds.

According to this report, there is a noticeable trend of recovery in global tourism, and it is stated that 87% of travel from 2019 was realized during the first nine months of this year.

NTO Director Ana Tripković Marković stated that they are extremely pleased with the evaluation of Montenegro’s tourism results coming from the most important international organizations in the field of tourism.
