Today, the Government passed the Decision on the Energy Balance of Montenegro for the next year, which plans to produce more than half of the electricity from hydropower plants.
The document includes balances of electricity, coal, oil, oil derivatives and biofuels, Annual analysis of the share of energy from renewable energy sources in total energy production, as well as measures for its implementation.
The Government announced that the total production of electricity in the amount of 3.6 thousand gigawatt hours (GWh) is planned for the next year.
“While the planned gross consumption is 3,117, so the planned surplus, the difference between production and consumption, for the next year will be 483 GWh,” the announcement reads.
As stated, in the coming year, it is planned that more than half of the electricity, or about 51 percent, will be produced from hydroelectric power plants, 37 percent from thermal power plants, nine percent from wind power plants and three percent from solar power plants.
“The production of TE Pljevlja for the next year is planned for the amount of 1,317 GWh, which is 12.2 percent less than the estimated realization this year,” said the Government.
When it comes to the balance of oil derivatives, the government said that the total turnover for consumption in Montenegro in the next year is planned in the amount of 421 thousand tons, which is 12.3 percent more than the estimate of consumption this year.
