The national airline Air Montenegro transported 450,000 passengers this year and achieved a positive result in the amount of EUR 5 million (EBITD), with only 125 employees, announced the president of the Board of Directors, Pavle Ljesar. As he said, this result represents the first positive financial outcome recorded in Montenegrin aviation in the last fifteen years.

The mentioned success, states Ljesar, cannot be attributed to only one factor, but is the result of the homely way of running the company, the optimal business model and the joint efforts of all operational and professional teams.

– What is even more important than the achieved results is clearly laying out the path for the future of the national airline, ensuring stability and successful business in the coming years. We leave the company with a positive balance of EUR 9 million on the accounts and a realized net profit of EUR 2.7 million. We also carried out preparations for next year, including the provision of the IATA code 4O, which at the same time represents the registration code of Montenegro, as well as the development of an investment and development plan until 2028 – Ljesar emphasized in the announcement.

Also, the company enters the year 2024 with completely completed tenders for the procurement of an adequate PSS system, a defined flight schedule and concluded contracts for the Montenegro Airlines hangar, as well as contracts for two aircraft for the summer of 2024, with savings of half a million euros compared to 2023. a year. Ljesar also states that the comprehensive training of the entire flight and cabin crew for the upcoming period, as well as the establishment of many other foundations and principles of the company’s business, further improved the business model.

– All of the above not only innovated the business model of the national airline, but also opened up a range of new opportunities before the European Commission and the Agency for the Protection of Competition, enabling that, if the development in the coming years continues at the started pace, success will be guaranteed – says Ljesar.

He points out that in the past three years, i.e. since the founding of Air Montenegro, it was an exceptional honor for him to be part of the Board of Directors of the national airline.
