Montenegro’s development priorities were the focus of meetings between Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and representatives of the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Spajić‘s office announced.

As stated, during the meeting with the head of the World Bank’s office for Montenegro, Christopher Sheldon, Spajić spoke about several topics as part of the preparation of the Partnership Framework of the World Bank’s cooperation with Montenegro in the period from next year to 2028.

Spajić also emphasized the importance of the World Bank‘s support in part of the future reform of majority-owned companies,” the statement said.

As it is added, the meeting discussed the potential and conditions for credit support from the World Bank, based on the implementation of development policies, all with the aim of strengthening economic resilience and managing the environment in a sustainable manner.

Spajić‘s office said that during the conversation with the head of the EBRD office in Montenegro, Remon Zakaria, they discussed current projects and directions for future cooperation.

“The focus will be on projects that increase the competitiveness of the Montenegrin economy, accelerate the transition to a green economy, as well as on connectivity and regional integration through the expansion of cross-border transport and energy connections,” the announcement states.
