Project financed from EU funds – adaptation of nine microbiology laboratories

Another project financed from EU funds, worth over two million euros, is the adaptation and equipping of nine microbiology laboratories, and its realization is underway. The deadline for implementation is nine months – Šćekić said.

He specified that these are laboratories in health centers in Berane, Bijelo Polje, Nikšić, Cetinje, Ulcinj, Bar, Budva and Kotor, as well as in Brezovik Hospital. Answering the questions about the construction of the new building of the General Hospital in Pljevlja, Šćekić said that a public tender has been announced for the development of a preliminary architectural design, the final report of which will be published on June 16th.

After that, the development of the main project will begin, and after the completion of the main project and its revision, a tender for construction will follow next year – Šćekić said. Speaking about the construction of the Emergency Block at the Clinical Center of Montenegro, he said that the completion of the project task is in progress.

The other documentation required for the publication of the public tender for the conceptual solution has been obtained. It is expected that the public tender will be announced in the second half of the year – said Šćekić.

When it comes to the construction project of the Emergency Center of the General Hospital in Nikšić, he said that the main project has been completed and that the revision is in the final phase. We expect the tender for construction to be announced in the third quarter – Šćekić added.

According to him, in addition to the above, the processes of adaptation and reconstruction of a number of facilities of health institutions throughout Montenegro have been initiated. The tender procedure for the development of the main project for the reconstruction of the General Hospital in Bijelo Polje has been completed, and we expect the contract soon, when the work will start – said Šćekić.

As he stated, the tender procedure for the Health Center in Ulcinj has also been completed, the contract for the execution of the works has been signed and preparations are being made for their commencement. Šćekić said that the revised main project for the radiological department in the Health Center in Plav was completed, and that the Ministry of Health had sent it to the Directorate for Capital Projects for further procedures.

While the project for the reconstruction of the Health Center in Budva is under revision, we expect its submission in the coming days and further processing to the Administration with the aim of issuing a tender for the execution of the works – Šćekić added.

Also, as he stated, activities on the implementation of the reconstruction project of the children’s hospital in Cetinje have been initiated. The preparation of the project assignment and the acquisition of other documents necessary for the announcement of a public tender by the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism are in progress – Šćekić said.

In Cetinje, he added, a roof and facade renovation project is being implemented at the Health Center, for which a contract was concluded with a contractor in April, so preparations are being made for the start of the works.

According to Šćekić, for the implementation of projects related to the Clinical and Hospital Center (KBC) Berane, tender procedures have been completed, contractors have been selected and preparations are being made for the start of works. In addition, tender procedures for the purchase of valuable medical equipment in the amount of over six million euros are underway – Šćekić said.

He specified that it is about three magnetic resonance imaging machines, for the hospitals in Bijelo Polje, Nikšić and Bar, a multislice scanner in the Clinical Center, equipment for two angiosalums and two mammograms for KBC in Berane and Kotor, as well as other medical equipment for the needs of health institutions in Montenegro.

Šćekić said that the fact is that there have been no significant investments in the health system for many years, and that numerous needs for adaptation, reconstruction, equipping and construction of facilities in the health system are evident. In order to provide adequate infrastructure and better working conditions for staff, as well as better living conditions for patients in order to provide the best health service. – Šćekić added.
