Montenegro’s Prime Minister, Milojko Spajić, and Tim Reardon, the CEO of the UK Export Finance (UKEF), have recognized the potential of a strategic partnership between Montenegro and the United Kingdom to significantly advance the country’s infrastructure and economic development for the benefit of its citizens.
The extensive expertise of UKEF in supporting British businesses worldwide and providing expert assistance to nations underscores its importance for numerous upcoming projects in Montenegro.
Discussions during the meeting primarily focused on investments in road and rail infrastructure, with an emphasis on early involvement of UK firms in tender processes for conceptual projects and solutions.
Additionally, both parties highlighted the potential collaboration in optimizing the Port of Bar’s capabilities and advancing the energy sector, with UKEF’s participation in a significant solar park project in Turkey as a notable example.
Arbitration reforms were also on the agenda, with the possibility of UK assistance in this domain being discussed.
The meeting concluded with the acknowledgment that such partnerships could provide assurance to investors regarding the safety and viability of investing in Montenegro.
The British Ambassador to Montenegro, Don McCabe, was also present at the meeting, underscoring the significance of bilateral cooperation.
