China is willing to cooperate with Montenegro in the field of “new infrastructure”, which includes 5G, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, renewable energy sources, high-speed rail and rail transit, in order to improve the quality of life of citizens, Chinese Ambassador Fan Kun announced.
In the author’s text entitled Development of “new infrastructure”, a new way of life, he said that Montenegro, upgrading itself as an ecological country, promotes the development of “new infrastructure”, accelerates digital transformation and achieves progress in the fields of digital economy and green development.
“This will help it to integrate into the European green standards as soon as possible on its way to join the European Union (EU), as well as to speed up the pace of gaining membership”, said Fan, reminding that China and Montenegro are each other’s partners and mutually they bring development opportunities.
He explained that “new infrastructure” refers to an infrastructure system based on information technology and supported through high-tech platforms, such as 5G, the Internet of Things, big data and artificial intelligence, with the aim of providing services such as digital transformation, intelligent upgrading and integrated innovation.
“The new infrastructure mainly covers seven main areas – 5G base stations, new energy vehicle charging stations, big data centers, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, ultra-high voltage (UHV), intercity high-speed rail and advanced rail transit”, Fan said.
According to him, the “new infrastructure” provides people with software and hardware internet products, complete solutions and application services, with the ultimate goal of realizing the “internet of everything”.
These digital applications in the information age are driving the strong development of new models and business formats, thus creating new lifestyles.
“Intelligent production and remote work help the development of the informatization of companies, while online shopping and payment, delivery by drones and similar technologies improve the efficient circulation of the consumer market.
A unified and connected system of public administration contributes to the efficiency of institutions’ work, and smart medical care and smart education enable the flow and sharing of scarce medical and educational resources even to inaccessible and remote territories”, Fan said.
He said that China attaches great importance to the development of “new infrastructure” and has made outstanding achievements in all seven major areas.
In the first half of this year, Chinese investment in “new infrastructure” grew 16.2 percent year-on-year. Of this, investments in 5G technology and big data centers grew by 13.1 percent, and investments in new integrated infrastructure, such as smart transportation, by 34.1 percent.
The number of 5G mobile phone users has increased to 695 million.
