The prices of personal consumption products and services, measured by the consumer price index, in September compared to August were on average 0.8 percent higher, Monstat data show.

In September, compared to the same month last year, consumer prices were on average 7.9 percent higher.

“The biggest impact on the monthly inflation rate was the increase in prices in the groups of shoes and other footwear, fuel and lubricants for motor vehicles, clothing, solid fuels, other appliances, items and products for personal care, education, real rents paid by tenants for primary residence “, the announcement states.

From January to September, compared to the same period last year, consumer prices were on average 9.9 percent higher.

Observed by the main groups of products and services according to the purpose of consumption, in September, compared to the previous month, growth was recorded in the groups of clothing and footwear by 8.4 percent, education by 2.7 percent, transportation by 2.4 percent, other goods and services by two percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels 0.9 percent, furniture, household equipment and routine apartment maintenance 0.6 percent and health 0.5 percent.

The drop in prices was recorded in the groups restaurants and hotels by 3.5 percent and food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.7 percent.

The prices of other products and services did not change significantly.
