The Director of the Environmental Fund, Draško Boljević, has announced a collaboration with the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism, and State Property to develop a proposal for the next phase of the 5000+ project. As part of this initiative, subsidies for electric vehicles for both citizens and the public sector will be increased from 5,000 to 7,000 euros for electric vehicles and from 2,500 to 4,000 euros for hybrids. Additionally, subsidies for charging stations will be raised by 50%.

In an interview on Radio Crna Gora’s “Link” program, Boljević highlighted the importance of extending subsidies to economic entities, given their significant contribution to pollution. He outlined upcoming projects, which will include the installation of solar panels, facades, metalwork, pellets, heat pumps, attic and floor insulation, as well as cooling and heating systems.

Boljević commended Radio and Television of Montenegro (RTCG) for their “green” projects and stressed the importance of setting an example in environmental initiatives. In collaboration with the Environmental Fund, RTCG is set to sign its third contract for the purchase of electric vehicles.

The initial phase of solar panel installation, completed in partnership with EPCG under projects 3000+ and 5000+, aimed to generate electricity at the point of consumption. Boljević emphasized that citizens will not incur additional costs for these investments, as financing is provided by EPCG, subsidies by the Environmental Fund, and construction by Dolar.

Despite challenges and delays, Boljević expressed confidence in the success of the pioneering project. He also discussed the increasing interest in electric cars over the past three years, attributing it to rising fuel prices and higher vehicle costs.
