The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG) will continue their successful cooperation in the development of renewable energy capacities, with the aim of accelerating the green transition, according to their representatives.
During a meeting between EPCG’s Executive Director Ivan Bulatović and EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso, who is on her first visit to Montenegro, the possibilities for continuing successful collaboration in the development of renewable energy capacities were discussed.
The meeting addressed the current status of projects jointly implemented by EPCG and EBRD.
“In June last year, a €82 million arrangement was signed for the construction of the Gvozd wind farm project, and the technical support of EBRD in the process of preparing the future floating power plant on Lake Skadar is also very important,” reminded the EPCG representatives.
Bulatović and Basso, along with their teams, also discussed further collaboration opportunities in the field of renewable energy.
Since 2007, EBRD has invested €805 million through 86 projects in Montenegro. Just last year, the bank invested €80 million and mobilized €25 million to support investments in the public and private sectors.
Representatives from EBRD present at the meeting included Charlotte Ruhe, Director for Central and Southeast Europe; Michael Strauss, Chief Legal Counsel of EBRD; Remon Zakaria, Head of EBRD’s office in Montenegro; Francesca Foglia, Director in the Office of the EBRD President; and Danilo Raičević, Energy Banker in the resident office in Podgorica.
Participants from EPCG included Ivan Mrvaljević, Executive Director of the Directorate for Development and Investment, and Bojan Đordan, Executive Director of FC Production.
