In Tivat, within the Porto Montenegro area, construction will commence on a wholesale facility for the luxury fashion brand Dior, as announced by Željko Komnenović, the President of the Municipality of Tivat.

The market’s interest in such establishments, where high-end goods commonly found in major European cities can be purchased, is evident. It’s clear that brands represented, particularly in Porto Montenegro and Luštica, cater to clientele with substantial purchasing power. Tivat is a destination favored by nautical tourists with yachts, so it’s straightforward to understand the demographic of guests we’re targeting – stated Komnenović to Forbes magazine.

Tivat has long been a beloved destination for both domestic and international tourists, known for its iconic Pine trees, luxurious resorts like Porto Montenegro and Luštica, vibrant carnivals, theaters, delectable cuisine, and warm hospitality.

Tivat has proudly held a place on the Green Destination list for two consecutive years, a testament to our commitment to sustainable development. With 70% of the municipality covered in greenery, much of it along the coastline, our offerings range from beachside leisure to picturesque hiking trails on Vrmac Hill. The presence of two major investment projects, Porto Montenegro and Luštica Bay, further enriches our offerings. I believe the upcoming season holds great promise – remarked Komnenović.

He noted that hotels are already fully booked, with significant interest in private accommodations, ensuring a diverse mix of guests.

While tourists from neighboring countries, particularly Serbia, continue to dominate, there’s a noticeable presence of visitors from Russia, the United Kingdom, France, the United Arab Emirates, and other nations.

We anticipate a gradual shift in guest demographics, with European visitors increasingly replacing Russian tourists, a trend observed over recent years. The resumption of flights from Tel Aviv is also encouraging, indicating a substantial influx of Israeli tourists, along with visitors from various European destinations – explained Komnenović, addressing concerns about potential declines in Russian tourism due to flight cancellations.

According to Monstat data, Tivat welcomed 160,864 tourists last year, resulting in 1,312,052 overnight stays.
