The occupancy of Kolašin hotels during the weekend in August was up to 100 percent, while half of the capacity in private accommodation was filled, the local Tourist Organization announced.
This is a slightly worse visit than the previous month, say the local Tourist Organization, but they emphasize that the trend of good statistics of the Kolasin tourist summer is still maintained.
According to the director of TO Zorica Milašinović, tourists are now more looking for accommodation outside the city.
“Guests are looking for accommodation in camps in Lipovo and Katuni. July, when it comes to attendance, was excellent, but during August the occupancy rate of private accommodation is slightly worse. Guests from abroad continue to dominate, so the majority of them are from France, Germany, Israel, the Netherlands, Poland and the Czech Republic. This summer we also have a large number of guests from Saudi Arabia“, said Milašinović.
Close to 10.8 thousand guests stayed in Kolašin during July, and most of them were foreign tourists.
A significant number of overnight stays was also achieved thanks to sports tourism, i.e. the basketball camp, and the preparations of the senior volleyball team of Montenegro.
As in previous years, the interest of tourists in active vacations is growing, so they often choose visits to Biogradska gora National Park, hiking and cycling tours in Bjelasica, horse riding, rafting on the Tara River, tours of the Mrtvice canyon, panoramic rides at the Kolašin 1600 Ski Center.
Since the beginning of the summer season, around eight thousand tickets for the panoramic ride on the Troglava cable car have been sold at the Kolašin 1600 Ski Center. According to the manager of that ski resort, Bojan Medenica, this summer’s visits are on the same level as last year’s.
“After the summer season, which will most likely last until the end of September, we will immediately work on preparations for the next winter season, which, in case of early snowfall, we expect to be a record and a true indicator of the potential of this ski center. We hope that the installation of the lifts will start soon and that we will complete the offer of the upcoming winter season with them”, said Medenica.
