Montenegro can be an ideal country for investments and investors in the IT industry, according to Google Vice President for Products Bradley Horowitz.
He recently, after a year, visited Montenegro again. The visit was realized with the support of the Henley & Partners company, and within it the vice president of Google met with state officials and representatives of the ICT community in Montenegro.
Horowitz said that he was in Montenegro again after a year and that he was able to see what had changed in the country during that period.
– I met with various IT leaders, representatives of the administration. It was really a pleasure! I got a great feeling for the potential that Montenegro has, heard some really concrete ideas about what can be done in the short term, but also in the long term. I am enthusiastic about the spirit I feel at this moment and the opportunity that lies before the IT community and investors in Montenegro – said Horowitz.
He believes there is progress.
– It’s about maturity. You are trying to build an eco-system that includes not only the building of great talent and great products, but an investor and market community, the possibility for Montenegrin technology to spread to the Balkans and beyond, and to be globalized. It takes time… Nevertheless, there is real and concrete progress. For example, there is the Innovation Program financed by government funds. You have reached a level of maturity and sophistication that was only a dream the previous year, and now the Program has started with shining, initial successes – he stated.
He adds that at this moment it is great that the program reminds us of what we call “seed investing”, that is, the early stage of investment.
– We believe that Montenegro has the talent and determination to turn this into a significant market. You can get involved early and come explore while the program is still under construction and be part of that solution. I think this is a place that investors around the world should have on their radar, they should come, examine and learn. There are all the right prerequisites for building a significant market here – said Horowitz.
Montenegro, he says, is such a beautiful country, inside and out, “blessed with incredible, diverse nature.”
– What really impresses me are the warmth and accessibility, but also the hospitable nature of the people. It’s great to be here, I feel very comfortable here. The great business opportunity is that it is not difficult to convince people that this is a great place to spend their time. In a world where remote work is possible, why not work from Montenegro? Horowitz concluded.
