The panoramic cable car in Žvinje will be built by the company Novi Volvox, which was selected as the most favorable bidder in the tender. The company recently signed a contract on the realization of the investment based on the principle of “design and build” with the Administration for Capital Projects.
According to the Secretary for Tourism, Economic Development and Investments Nenad Vitomirović, the company Novi Volvox made an offer of EUR 9.88 million with equipment from the renowned company LEITNER AG/SPA, which is slightly lower than the estimated value.
– Three months are planned for the development of the main project from the date of signing the contract, and the deadline for the execution of the works is 12 months from the day of introduction to work. The introduction of the contractor into the work is understood within 15 days from the construction application. The contract was signed a few days ago and will be implemented according to the “turnkey” system, whereby the contractor independently undertakes to carry out all the work required for the construction and use of the entire building, and that the agreed price includes the value of all unforeseen works and surplus works – Vitomirovic said.
He states that Herceg Novi will have this attractive offer for the tourist season of 2025 not only for tourists, but also for a large number of excursionists who pass through the municipality of Herceg Novi from Dubrovnik, BiH and Montenegro.
The starting station of the cable car will be near Karaula, and the final station will be near the church in Ilinica. As previously stated by the Administration, the gondola is planned to transport 150 people per hour.
