The news that Herceg Novi was among the ten best coastal cities in the world, brought it to the top of media attention in the past few days, both at the local and state level, as well as in the countries of the region and beyond.
The municipality of Herzeg Novi announced that more than a dozen announcements were placed through different types of media, with a readership numbering in the hundreds of thousands.
“The main assets of Herceg Novi for the 7.8 out of ten rating were the quality of cultural attractions, the number of places on the UNESCO World Heritage List and popularity on Google and social networks,” the announcement states.
The President of Herceg Novi Municipality, Stevan Katic, said that he is sure that such recognition will be an invitation to future tourists to discover what it is that makes Herceg Novi worthy of being ranked among the best in the world.
“To be compared with 117 world cities and to win a high sixth place is a privilege for Herceg Novi and a confirmation that its natural, social and cultural potentials are recognized and appreciated in the world”, said Katic and added that the city expects new investments and infrastructure projects that will contribute better and better quality offer.
The popularity and characteristics of Herceg Novi, as stated by the Municipality, influence not only tourist operators, journalists and media, but also many celebrities from the world of music, culture and sports, to visit Herceg Novi and Montenegro and experience unique impressions.
“That’s why it’s not surprising that the city is often the host of the best tennis player of all time, Novak Djokovic, who stayed in Žabljak and Durmitor, but also attended Vlado Georgiev’s concert at Kanli Tower,” the announcement states.
The Municipality said that one of the greatest legends of American basketball, Magic Johnson, was particularly delighted with the charms of the Riviera and the whole of Boka.
Herceg Novi is on the list of the ten best coastal cities after Reykjavik, Bruges, Naples, Monaco and Split, while from seventh to tenth place are Amsterdam, Cape Town, Dublin and Gibraltar.
