A prestigious five-star hotel will be built on the site of the former Hotel Jadran in Ulcinj, and the international hotel group Hilton is interested in managing the facility.
There is great potential in Ulcinj for the further development of a unique tourist destination and where the arrival of a five-star hotel in this central location would mark a new beginning for the city, Prime Minister Dritan Abazović said during a meeting with the vice president of the Hilton hotel brand, Dominique Piquemal and new investor for the location of the former Hotel Jadran in Ulcinj, Arber Kryeziu. The meeting was also attended by the President of the Municipality of Ulcinj, Omer Barjaktari.
Let us remind you that it was previously announced that the future Hotel Jadran will be managed by Hilton. Abazović confirmed that it was a world-famous hotel chain during the signing of the contract between Morsko dobro and the Royal company in April, but he did not specify who it was, stating that negotiations were ongoing and that his name was still a secret. The value of the investment is, as was said at the time, EUR 40 million.
– The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction at the interest of a globally significant hotel brand such as Hilton to continue expanding its presence in Montenegro, more precisely in Ulcinj, where there is great potential for the further development of a unique tourist destination and where the arrival of a five-star hotel on this central location marked a new beginning for Ulcinj. He also highlighted the great progress in the tourist offer in Montenegro in the previous period, as well as the efforts made to make the destination live 365 days a year, in which this hotel will be of key importance – it was announced.
Pikemal said that Hilton recognizes the great potential in Montenegro and Ulcinj for the development of hotels, and that the key factors are the beautiful nature and the kindness and hospitality of the people.
– Hilton’s mission is to integrate into the community and spread these values to its guests. The guests’ demand for unique hotel experiences and their recognition of quality make Hilton ideally positioned to meet the needs of the market – stated Pikemal.
During the meeting, it was noted that global hotel brands that have already achieved significant success and good results in Montenegro, and that new investments herald the continuation of that trend in the future.
– As 60% of Hilton’s business is the American market, which is also a strategically important market for Montenegro, Hilton’s significant base of regular guests will help in better visibility of the destination in this market and bring new guests to Montenegro – the announcement states.
The participants agreed that the infrastructure is of imperative importance for the further development of the tourist destination. Improving the airport infrastructure, increasing the number of flights, better roads will increase the accessibility and mobility of guests. This is precisely the focus of the Government of Montenegro.
