Montenegro, liquid assets in banks in November last year amounted to EUR 1.95 billion

Liquid assets in banks in November last year amounted to EUR 1.95 billion, which is 0.89% more than in October. Liquid assets in banks in November were 31.36% higher compared to the same month in 2021.

Liquidity coefficients for the banking system as a whole were above the prescribed minimums, on a daily and decadal level. The balance sheet total of banks at the end of November amounted to EUR 6.24 billion and recorded an increase of 1.45% compared to October, while at the annual level it strengthened by 17.51%.

In the structure of banks’ assets, in November, the dominant share of 59.11% was achieved by total loans, followed by cash and deposit accounts with central banks with 26.31%, securities with 13.58%, while one percent related to to the remaining asset items. In the structure of liabilities, the dominant share of 81.3% was achieved by deposits, followed by capital with 10.45%, loans with 5.2%, while other items accounted for 3.05% of total liabilities.

The total capital of banks at the end of November amounted to EUR 651.38 million, and on a monthly and annual level, it recorded a growth of 3.55% and 4.98%, respectively.
