After excellent results in the second quarterly report of ETC for 2023, where it was pointed out that the activities of the National Tourist Organization (NTO) are responsible for the good positioning of our destination in key markets, successful promotional activities were also recognized in the latest report of the leading European travel institution.

– Compared to the period before the pandemic, Europeans travel to a wider range of destinations in order to reduce costs – Turkey, Montenegro, Albania and Croatia are the best in terms of the number of overnight stays compared to the level before the pandemic. The very successful campaigns of tourist organizations, especially of Montenegro, combined with the expansion of low-cost carrier lines are responsible for that – the report states.

Also, in the September report of ETC, it is stated that Montenegro is in the first place in terms of growth in the occupancy rate of accommodation facilities compared to September 2019, with a growth of 12.81%.

– Data from the beginning of the year show that one third of destinations exceeded the level of foreign tourist arrivals that was achieved in the comparative period of 2019. Southern European and Mediterranean destinations contributed the most to Europe’s recovery, including Montenegro (+14%). However, around 65% of destinations have still not reached the level of arrivals achieved before the pandemic – according to the ETC‘s quarterly report.

In addition, the report also mentions other indicators of tourist traffic that testify to the excellent results of Montenegrin tourism in 2023, as well as to the increasingly better positioning of Montenegro on the map of European destinations.
