Year after year, Montenegro successfully positions itself as a luxurious and attractive destination for tourists from all over the world, and numerous world-famous magazines and websites dedicated to travel, place it on the lists of the most popular summer destinations in Europe. Also, during the previous years, and especially in 2022, the real estate market in Montenegro flourished, and foreigners invested more than ever.

We talked about these topics, but also about what awaits us in the upcoming season, with Rashad Aliyev, the CEO of Azmont Investments, which owns the Portonovi resort.

In the previous year, Portonovi achieved truly outstanding results when it comes to resort visits, and the data also shows that a record number of foreigners bought real estate in Montenegro. What are your expectations for the season ahead?

The past few years have been very unpredictable – both on the domestic and world stage there have been numerous events that have greatly changed the way of doing business and the leading trends. We came out of them richer for numerous experiences and lessons, and we are very proud of the fact that, despite all the challenges, we managed to adapt and contribute to the growth of the Montenegrin real estate market, as well as the entire tourism industry.

The extremely successful holiday season in Portonovi, which attracted more than one hundred thousand visitors, was a great prelude to everything that awaits us in the coming months – starting with the events before the Easter and holidays in May, and ending with the announcement of the summer season.
One of the proofs that the Portonovi team’s efforts towards constant growth and improvement of services have been recognized by visitors is the Booking.com – Traveler Review Award.

In what way did the presence of resorts increase the attractiveness of Montenegro as a place to invest?

At Azmont Investments, we are proud to have recognized the extraordinary potential of Montenegro and its natural beauty. That is exactly why we have created an idyllic settlement that attracts the attention of tourists from all over the world right here, in a country that many famous world magazines have been putting on the lists of the most popular summer destinations for years. This was recognized by numerous investors who bought real estate within our resort. It is additional proof that, although we cannot time the market, which is accompanied by high risks and investments, owning a property like this can represent a constant source of excellent income, but also peace, satisfaction and enjoyment. Our goal is to continuously stimulate economic growth while continuing to improve what makes Montenegro attractive to tourists, as it is truly one of Europe’s most underrated gems.

What do you consider the most significant advantages that distinguish you from other resorts?

I would say that it is, above all, a unique and personalized experience adapted to the most diverse types of travelers, as well as the exceptional level of service we provide to every guest, regardless of travel style or preferences – from families with small children, couples looking for a romantic vacation, to solo traveler in search of adventure. In addition, our waterfront location, which is stunning in its own right, and world-class facilities such as the world-class Chenot Espace Spa and Wellness Center set us apart from other resorts in the region and make us the first choice for travelers visiting these parts.

One of Porton’s strengths is the modern marina, which was awarded the prestigious “5 Gold Anchor” accreditation last year. What are the plans when it comes to the development of this segment of the resort?

It is a great honor for us to be the recipient of this extremely important recognition from the Yacht Harbor Association. When we started the construction of Portonovi Marina a few years ago, we had a vision to be a marina that is recognized for the exceptional quality of the services we provide. The “5 Gold Anchor” award is proof that we have succeeded in this and that, accordingly, we will continue to meet the highest standards and provide the best possible service to our users. When it comes to the next period, we expect and plan only further growth and development, since the nautical tourism of Montenegro has great potential, but it is necessary to encourage and nurture it in order to position the entire country as one of the leading destinations for sailors.

How will Portonovi differ from last year’s version?

As we look ahead, at Portonovi 2023, we are excited about the continued evolution of our resort. Although we have always prided ourselves on offering a world-class tourist destination, we are constantly striving to improve and innovate. This includes ongoing investment in our infrastructure and amenities to ensure we always offer guests the latest and most luxurious offerings. We believe that in 2023 Portonovi will offer even more exceptional experiences – from unique restaurants to new wellness offers, while maintaining the high level of service and attention to detail for which we are known.
