Montenegro’s tourism shines at ITB China 2024: Expanding horizons in the Chinese market

The National Tourism Organization of Montenegro (NTO) introduced its latest tourism offerings at the ITB China 2024 exhibition, hosted within the European Travel Commission (ETC) booth.

Described as one of the premier B2B exhibitions targeting the Chinese market, this year’s event attracted participants from across the tourism spectrum, including international and domestic tourism organizations, travel agencies, hotels, airlines, and numerous media outlets.

During the fair’s opening day, a presentation drew over 40 representatives from China’s tourism industry and media sector.

Lazar Miranović, a member of NTO’s Executive Board, expressed satisfaction with Montenegro’s representation at the Shanghai event, highlighting the country’s strong showing.

Miranović noted the significant interest demonstrated by China’s economy in Montenegro and the broader region. He believes that the deepening ties between our region and China will facilitate the rapid recovery of our tourism market post-pandemic.

Throughout the fair’s second day, representatives from NTO and Montenegro’s tourism industry engaged in meetings with their Chinese counterparts. These discussions provided insights into the diverse travel opportunities available in Montenegro.

Tony Li, General Manager of Deluxe Mice Tour & Luxury Travel agency, underscored Montenegro’s potential and the growing enthusiasm among Chinese tourists, particularly for luxury resorts.

Corrine Chen, Sales Manager at GZL International Travel Service agency, emphasized the importance of offering high-quality experiences to attract Chinese tourists, noting the rising interest in Montenegro’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

Victoria Luo, Sales Manager for China at Europcar GSA China agency, was encouraged by positive feedback about Montenegro from European colleagues. She expressed a desire to visit soon, given the proximity of their offices in Podgorica and Tivat.

In addition to NTO’s presentation, travel agencies such as Venn Tour, Montenegro Escape Tours, and Fly Montenegro showcased their offerings at the event.
