Air Montenegro is geared up to receive passengers and provide top-notch service during the upcoming summer tourism season, announced Maja Bjelić, the PR manager of the national airline company. She informed the MINA-business agency that the beginning of this year’s summer season signals a definite increase in key figures.

According to Bjelić, the summer season officially kicked off on March 31st, as per the official IATA calendar. From April 1st to May 15th, the company operated 140 more flights compared to the same period last year, accommodating nearly five thousand more passengers.

“Our projections indicate that by the end of the summer season, we anticipate operating around 740 more flights compared to the previous season and transporting approximately 84 thousand more passengers,” Bjelić stated.

She highlighted that cabin occupancy is also expected to increase by about 4.5% compared to last year’s summer season.

In response to inquiries about the number of aircraft Air Montenegro will operate during this summer season, Bjelić revealed that the company has expanded its fleet. As a result, it will operate with four aircraft, including two Embraer 195s and two leased aircraft—an Airbus 320 and an Embraer 190.

“The seating capacity of our aircraft ranges from 104 seats in the Embraer 190 to 180 seats in the Airbus 320. All our aircraft feature a dual configuration of economy and business class,” Bjelić added.

Bjelić assured that both Air Montenegro and Montenegro’s tourism industry are ready to cater to the expected increase in tourist arrivals during the summer season. She emphasized that the company has expanded its fleet and destination offerings to meet the demand.

“Air Montenegro will continue to strive to improve its service to passengers this summer, as always,” Bjelić affirmed.

During this summer season, Air Montenegro will operate flights to 16 destinations. Bjelić highlighted that the company recently expanded its presence in the Turkish market by introducing the Tivat-Izmir route. Additionally, new destinations such as Tivat-Baku and Podgorica-Ostrava will be introduced in June.

“By introducing the Ostrava route, Air Montenegro aims to strengthen Montenegro’s position in the Czech market alongside existing destinations to Prague and Brno,” Bjelić explained.

She concluded by noting that the introduction of the Baku route marks the first time Montenegro will be directly connected to Azerbaijan, signaling the company’s commitment to expanding its reach and enhancing connectivity.
