Monthly living costs were obtained from International Living, Livingcost.org, among others. Places are then ranked in ascending order from lowest to highest points.

Euro News states that some of the best places to retire in Europe are Spain and Croatia. Spain is among the top contenders for its warm weather, beautiful beaches and safety.
