According to the quarterly report of the European Travel Commission (ETC), Montenegro leads compared to other destinations in the growth of tourist traffic, thanks to the intensified activities of the National Tourist Organization (NTO) and affordable price policy.
In the report, as announced by the NTO, it is stated that Montenegro is an increasingly popular destination in Europe, and that it is in the first place in terms of growth in the number of tourists compared to 2019 in the markets of Great Britain, France and the Netherlands, and that is listed very well in other markets as well, such as the United States of America (USA), Australia and China.
ETC states that the promotional activities of NTO are responsible for such good results.
“Montenegro is experiencing a strong recovery in tourism. This was driven by an increase in NTO’s promotional activities, which strengthened its reputation and visibility as a leading destination in many key markets,” the report stated.
According to this report, as one of the factors of the good rating of Montenegro in relation to other destinations, is the affordable price policy.
“Affordability is a key theme in most markets this year. Europe is experiencing high levels of inflation and increasing costs for tourists from distant destinations. Travelers continue to show a willingness to pay for an experience, but value-for-money destinations will benefit the most. It is no coincidence that Montenegro and Turkey, as two of the most favorable destinations in Europe, have achieved the best results in terms of tourist arrivals from Great Britain”, they said from ETC.
In addition to Great Britain, Montenegro also recorded the highest growth in tourist arrivals from the markets of France and the Netherlands.
“Montenegro is now ahead of all other destinations in terms of recovery, with an increase in arrivals by 118.3 percent and overnight stays by 72.8 percent in the French market. NTO’s promotional activities are part of the reason for the recovery in this market,” the report states.
Director of NTO, Ana Tripković Marković, referred to the data from the report, and said that they indicate an increasingly better positioning of Montenegro as a tourist destination in Europe.
“We are extremely satisfied with the achieved results and proud that the leading European institution in tourism recognized the work of NTO. The fact that we are in first place in the markets of Great Britain, France and the Netherlands in terms of growth in the number of tourists compared to 2019 shows us that we are on the right track and that our strategy of attracting tourists from these markets is bringing great results. Aware that we have enormous potential and still room for advancement, we will continue to work dedicatedly on the best possible positioning of Montenegro as a tourist destination”, said Tripković Marković.
The activities of the NTO, as she stated, will continue to be clearly aimed at diversifying the tourist market, monitoring and adapting to global trends.
In addition to the affirmative data from this report, Montenegro has been among the 10 best rated destinations according to the reviews of visitors to online travel platforms for more than a year in ETC’s monthly surveys.
