Inflation on the decline – Annual rate 8.6%

The prices of personal consumption products and services, measured by the consumer price index, were on average 0.2% higher in April compared to March, according to Monstat data. Compared to the same month last year, prices rose by 8.6% on average.

Let us recall that the annual inflation rate in January was 16.20%, in February 15.10%, and in March 10.50%.

The biggest impact on the monthly inflation rate was the growth of prices in the groups of clothing, vegetables, shoes and other footwear, meat, rents paid by tenants for primary residence, accommodation services, air passenger transport and fruit. In the period from January to April, compared to the same period last year, consumer prices increased by an average of 12.5%.

Observed by the main groups of products and services according to the purpose of consumption in April, compared to the previous month, growth was recorded in the groups of clothing and footwear 4.2%, recreation and culture 0.8%, restaurants and hotels 0.7%, food and soft drinks 0.4% – stated from Monstat.

The drop in prices was recorded in the groups health 1.7%, furniture, household equipment and routine apartment maintenance 1.3%, transportation 0.9%, other goods and services 0.9%, housing, water, electricity, gas and others fuel 0.4%, Communications 0.1% and alcoholic beverages and tobacco 0.1%. The prices of other products and services did not change significantly.
