The week was marked by the information that the employees of the “Simo Milošević” Institute received their June salary on Tuesday.

Acting director of the Institute, Savo Marić, said that the salary was provided by the payments of the Health Fund for their services.

“The EUR 330,000 is not an advance payment, we already earned it,” explained Marić and added that he is waiting to see how the EUR 600,000 loan approved by the Board of Directors of Elektroprivreda will be paid.

Marić also said that, in case of payment of EUR 600,000, they would be able to pay off some creditors and avoid account blocking, which is common in that institution.

The Minister of Economic Development and Tourism, Goran Đurović, announced this week that 878.02 thousand tourists were registered in all types of accommodation in Montenegro during the first six months.

He added that this is 40.53 percent more compared to the same period last year.

“According to Monstat’s preliminary data, it is 16.56 percent more compared to the same period of the record year 2019,” Đurović wrote on his profile on the social network X, formerly Twitter.

At the beginning of the week, information was published that tax inspectors in the period from May 1st to August 20th performed 3.62 thousand regularity checks of taxpayers’ operations, and that almost EUR 700 thousand in fines were collected.

“Irregularities were found among 315 taxpayers and on that basis 410 misdemeanor orders were issued with fines in the amount of EUR 1.29 million,” announced the Revenue and Customs Administration.

Irregularities determined are related to not registering the turnover of goods and services in the manner prescribed by law, not paying the market in the manner prescribed by law, not calculating or incorrectly calculating value added tax (VAT), not reporting employees and carrying out activities without prior general tax registration.

At the end of the week, the possibility of a new increase in retail fuel prices in Montenegro was announced, for the tenth time since the beginning of the year.

According to the current relationship between the prices of oil derivatives on international exchanges and the exchange rate of the dollar and the euro, it is expected that both types of gasoline will rise by three cents, and diesel by one cent. Thus, the new price of BMB 98 gasoline would be 1.69 cents per liter, and BMB 95 would cost 1.65 cents. The new price of Eurodiesel would be 1.52 cents.
