Air Montenegro plans to expand its operations during the 2023/24 winter season, which begins on October 1st and lasts until March 30th of the following year.

On December 15th, the carrier will introduce a new bi-weekly route between Podgorica and Rome. The former Montenegrin national airline, Montenegro Airlines, maintained flights between the two capitals until the start of the corona virus pandemic in March 2020, while Wizz Air changed this route to a seasonal summer route this year.

In addition, Air Montenegro upgraded its seasonal summer flights between Podgorica and Zurich to flights throughout the year. From Tivat, the airline will increase the frequency to Istanbul from five weekly, during the previous winter, to daily.

The Montenegrin airline has not yet decided whether it will implement plans to open a base in Tuzla. The carrier originally intended to base the aircraft in the city and launch flights to ten destinations across Europe. However, the airline has only been granted permits to operate flights on two planned routes – Istanbul and Maastricht – while Luxembourg authorities have yet to make a final decision on the request.

As previously reported, Air Montenegro plans to lease more aircraft for the period from January 1st, 2024 to March 31st, 2024, with delivery by December 31st, 2023. The jets will operate alongside the existing two Embraer E195s.

Also, Air Montenegro is currently in the process of selecting a new passenger system provider (reservation system), which, when implemented, should enable the airline to sell flights with connections and offer more options to its passengers.
