EUR 106 million was invested in the construction and renovation of ski centers in the north

EUR 106 million has been invested in the construction of ski centers in the north of Montenegro and the valorization of Đalovića Cave, according to data from the report on the implementation of these projects until June 30th of this year.

As stated in the information adopted by the Government at the recently held session, these are development projects for the construction of ski centers on Bjelasica from the Kolašin, Bjelopolje and Mojkovac sides, the ski center on Durmitor, the ski center on Štedim and Hajla and the valorization of Đalovića Cave, which include the construction of road infrastructure, access roads and parking lots, electrical and telecommunication infrastructure, water supply and waste water drainage systems, service and catering facilities, cable cars, pedestrian and ski trails.

Since the start of the Kolašin 1600 Ski Center project, a total of EUR 35.32 million has been invested, of which EUR 862,670.57 was realized in the first half of 2023, i.e. in the reporting period. A total of around EUR 5.7 million is planned for this year.

As stated in the document, the implementation of the construction project of the Kolašin 1600 Ski Center is planned in two phases. The first phase, which was completed, included works on the construction of road infrastructure with parking, base stations with accompanying facilities, primary power grids, detachable six-seater cable cars (K8 Troglava), hydrotechnical infrastructure, ski slopes and procurement of necessary machinery and equipment.

The second phase, which is in progress, includes works on the construction of additional electronic energy infrastructure, the detachable six-seater cable car K7 Klisura, which connects both ski centers in this location – Kolašin 1600 and Kolašin 1450, accompanying ski slopes and snowmaking of the slopes, construction of a water supply system, storage lakes and snowmaking systems, as well as the procurement of machinery for the preparation and maintenance of ski slopes – it was stated.

In order to further improve the tourist offer, the construction of anchor type ski lift 1, plate type ski lift 2, lighting of the trails and the construction of an assembly-disassembly bob is additionally planned through the capital budget.

For the first phase of the construction of the Ski Center Žarski, an investment of around EUR 27 million is planned, and EUR 14.04 million has been invested so far. Out of the planned EUR 2.7 million for this year, there was no investment in this mountain center in the first six months.

The zone of the mountain center Žarski is located in the northern part of the area of ​​Bjelasica on the territory of the municipalities of Mojkovac and Bijelo Polje and covers an area of ​​1,550 ha at an altitude of 1,650 m. The largest part of the planned base area of ​​Žarski is located in the municipality of Mojkovac, and a smaller part in the municipality of Bijelo Polje.

In accordance with the Plan, the base settlement of the mountain center will consist of a parking zone at the entrance to the base settlement, a zone with the facilities of the central settlement with hotels, apartments, reception and public facilities, a zone of separate groups with facilities for single-family and multi-family accommodation units and areas for ski departures elevators. The construction of 14 hotels in the ski center is planned in detail.
