Czech companies interested in traffic projects in Montenegro

Czech companies are interested in the projects that Montenegro intends to implement in the area of ​​modernization of the railway system, but also in the construction of new and reconstruction of existing state roads, announced Czech Ambassador Janina Hrebičkova.

As announced by the Ministry of Capital Investments (MKI), in addition to looking at the political situation in Montenegro, the focus of the talks were also economic topics, specifically the field of transport and energy.

Hrebičkova pointed out that there is significant interest from the Czech economy and companies in the projects that Montenegro intends to implement in the area of ​​modernization of the railway system, but also in the construction of new and reconstruction of existing state roads.

She recalled the successful cooperation with Czech companies in the field of railway transport, that is, the electrification project of the Nikišić – Podgorica railway and the potential for them to become more active on the Montenegrin market.

Hrebičkova announced the transport summit that will be held in the Czech Republic in the next few months and the opportunity to hold bilateral meetings with relevant ministers, in order to open discussions on further concrete steps of cooperation.

The Ministry of Interior said that, apart from traffic, the area of ​​renewable energy sources and the undoubted capacities that Montenegro has is always a current topic.

– The ambassador expressed the interest of companies from the Czech Republic in further plans of the Government of Montenegro, so that they could participate in future tenders and international invitations in a timely and adequate manner – the announcement states.

The interlocutors jointly assessed that Montenegro needs a stable government with a clear Euro-Atlantic commitment and priorities in the field of economy and raising the quality of life of all its citizens, but also in the field of the rule of law and the fight against corruption and organized crime.
