Reconstruction of the Pljevlja Thermal Power Plant (TPP) is set to begin next year and is projected to take seven months to complete, according to Saša Mujović, the Minister of Energy and Mining.

“Will we shut down the TPP by 2030? Let me be clear, we will not. I recently attended a ministerial meeting in Banja Luka where I stated that while we are committed to a green transition, we need financial support to achieve it.

Shutting down the TPP requires substantial funds, which we currently lack, as does the entire Western Balkans region. We will not close the TPP until we have developed an alternative and can ensure a reliable supply of electricity to our citizens,” Mujović emphasized during his appearance on RTCG’s Morning Program.
