A girl named Bejli from England is this year’s millionth passenger at Tivat Airport. She was traveling with her parents back home on an easyJet flight from Tivat to London after their vacation in Herceg Novi. This milestone marks the first time since 2019 that Tivat Airport has served a million passengers, as announced by the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, Jelena Maraš and Executive Director, Roko Tolić, from Airports of Montenegro.
“I am thrilled to announce that after five long years, we have welcomed our millionth passenger in Tivat. It’s noteworthy that this passenger is flying with one of our strategic partners, easyJet, which has shown consistent organic growth in Tivat,” stated Executive Director Roko Tolić.
This summer, easyJet recorded an 80% increase in passenger numbers compared to last year, projected to carry 133,000 passengers by the end of October. The airline connects Tivat with airports in London Gatwick, London Luton, Berlin, Manchester (throughout the IATA summer season), Geneva (from late April to late October) and Bristol (from late June to late September).
“With an 80% growth this year, we anticipate an additional 30% increase for next summer, translating to around 174,000 passengers,” Tolić explained.
The Executive Director of ACG expressed optimism for their upcoming participation in the international aviation conference Routes, which will take place in Bahrain.
“We expect discussions with numerous airlines, and I believe we will return with more positive news,” concluded Tolić.
