Montenegro and Italy share close ties in many aspects, and a prerequisite for the full utilization of geographical connectivity is the revitalization of transportation connections between the two countries. This was emphasized during a meeting between the Minister of Finance, Novica Vuković, and the Italian Ambassador to Montenegro, Andreina Marsella.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the meeting highlighted the traditionally friendly relations between the two states, characterized by substantive and diverse cooperation in almost all aspects of public and economic activities.

Ambassador Marsella emphasized the importance of establishing regular air routes and strengthening transportation links between the two countries. This is seen as a precondition for further tourism, investment, and overall economic networking, as well as the preservation of predictability in the business environment from the perspective of legislative stability.

Minister Vuković underscored the significance of the developmental component of the budget for the next year, focusing on the development of the north and supporting mature projects crucial for accelerating economic growth and development.

He mentioned the valuable support from partner countries like Italy, where successful projects are being implemented in almost all strategically recognized areas. This support is particularly valuable in attracting credible investors looking to expand their successful businesses into Montenegro.

The participants agreed on the assessment that continuing collaboration in the field of energy and the establishment of a second underground power transmission cable represents a development opportunity for Montenegro. Completing this project would make Montenegro a regional energy hub and a link between the Western Balkans and the EU.
