The Saudi Development Fund is interested in projects in Montenegro

The Saudi Development Fund is interested in intensifying cooperation with the Government of Montenegro in key areas, the Ministry of Finance announced.

As they stated, Minister Aleksandar Damjanović and his team met with representatives of the Saudi Fund for Development, Bandre Albazai, General Director for Development and Saleh Al Obaid, a specialist in the fund’s operations sector, with whom he discussed the possibilities of cooperation at the level of the two countries.

Representatives of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) initiated the meeting with Damjanović after a meeting held in New York this month, between the Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia and the President of the Board of Directors of SFD Ahmed Al Kateb and the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazović, where opportunities were recognized improvement of mutual state relations.

– The goal of today’s meeting was to take a closer look at the possibilities of realizing joint projects and potential investment of the Saudi Fund for Development in development projects of Montenegro – the announcement states.

Speaking about Montenegro’s investment climate and development goals, Damjanović pointed out the priority areas for investment, namely infrastructure, energy, tourism, education and health.

Albazai emphasized the commitment of the fund he represents, which has been operating for 49 years and has successful cooperation with 90 countries, to intensify cooperation with the Government of Montenegro in key areas.

During the open and constructive dialogue, the intention of both sides to encourage bilateral and economic cooperation between the two countries and the need for accelerated initiation of joint activities were confirmed.

– The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia previously expressed its readiness for support and partnership, in mid-September, by committing a grant of 3 million USD for the development of the education sector in Montenegro – the announcement concludes.
