Montenegro will have 30 embassies, six missions, and four consular offices in the near future. This is derived from the Regulation on the Internal Organization and Systematization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, published by the government.

According to the document, Montenegro will have 30 embassies, including in Albania, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Kosovo, China, Hungary, North Macedonia, Germany, Poland, Romania, Russia, at the Holy See and Sovereign Military Order of Malta, the United States, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, the UAE, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, France, Croatia, Ukraine, Spain, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.

The regulation also envisions six missions at international organizations: the Mission of Montenegro to the European Union (EU) based in Brussels, the Permanent Mission of Montenegro to NATO based in Brussels, the Permanent Mission of Montenegro to the United Nations (UN) based in New York, the Permanent Mission to the United Nations (UN) and other international organizations based in Geneva, the Permanent Mission of Montenegro to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and special organizations of the United Nations based in Vienna, and the Permanent Mission to the Council of Europe (CoE) based in Strasbourg.

Additionally, there are plans for four consular offices in the United States, Germany, Serbia, and Turkey.

Within the General Directorate for Economic and Public Diplomacy, there will be a Directorate for Economic Diplomacy, which will handle tasks related to preparing information about investment and business opportunities in Montenegro. The department will also be responsible for coordinating with relevant authorities and promoting Montenegro’s culture, tourism, science, sports, economy, and overall brand.
