Montenegro plans to introduce a system of electronic invoices, and assistance in the implementation of this project will be provided by the Ministry of Finance of Serbia.

As announced by the Government, representatives of the Ministry of Serbia at a meeting held in Belgrade in January of this year expressed their willingness to, among other things, meet the Ministry of Finance of Montenegro in order to implement the system of electronic invoices in the Montenegrin fiscal system. Based on that, the Montenegrin Ministry sent a letter formalizing the cooperation.

At the end of April, the representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Serbia announced that the company Asseco SEE, as an authorized supplier and distributor of the manufacturer of licensed software – a centralized platform for sending, receiving, managing and storing electronic invoices of legal entities and entrepreneurs, secured the consent of the manufacturer of this licensed software solution, for extending the validity of the license to the territory of Montenegro, free of charge, for a period of three years from the day of signing the Minutes on extending the validity of the license in question.

The government itself tasked the Ministry of Finance to form a working group that will develop a plan of activities for the introduction of the electronic invoice system and carry out a cost estimate.
