Montenegro’s territorial waters welcomed over 4,000 foreign vessels for leisure in the 2023

In the past year, Montenegro’s territorial waters welcomed 4,430 foreign vessels for leisure, sports, and recreation, as per data from the Montenegro Statistical Office (Monstat).

Of these, 3,740 vessels arrived by sea, while 689 were transported by land.

Sailing yachts accounted for the highest proportion of foreign vessels entering Montenegro’s territorial waters at 42.6%, followed by motor yachts at 39.5%, and other types of vessels at 17.9%.

The total number of individuals arriving on these vessels last year was 18,610.

Regarding nationality, the largest contingents hailed from the United Kingdom (8.5%), Germany (7.1%), Italy (6.9%), the United States (6.1%), Croatia (5.4%), France (3%), Austria (2.5%), Switzerland (1.5%), Slovenia (1.1%), with other countries constituting 57.9%.
