The Podgorica-based company Agenos Energy has made significant progress in the development of its Vraćenovići solar power plant by finalizing a connection agreement with the Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System (CGES).

Representatives from both companies, Ivan Asanović and Iva Simonović, recently signed the agreement for the construction and connection infrastructure.

The planned Vraćenovići solar power plant will have an installed capacity of 87.5 MW and is set to be situated in Vraćenovići, close to the Montenegro-Bosnia and Herzegovina border. The plant is anticipated to become operational by 2028. It will connect to the transmission network at Vilusa, where a new 220/110 kV transformer station will be constructed. This station will link to the existing 110 and 220 kV networks and is expected to serve as a connection point for several power plants in the Vilusa region.

“This development marks a major step towards increasing clean energy production, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, and potentially lowering future energy costs. It also supports a more sustainable and eco-friendly energy system,” CGES stated in their announcement.
