Montenegro’s aviation sector ready for summer season

Montenegro’s Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Filip Radulović, has announced that both Airports of Montenegro and Air Montenegro are fully prepared for the upcoming summer season.

In an interview with the Mina agency, Radulović revealed that the Airports of Montenegro have already exceeded their record-breaking performance from 2019 in the first half of this year. With connections to 40 destinations planned for this year, the minister expressed confidence in a highly successful summer season ahead.

Radulović highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing airport infrastructure, noting the continuation of the concession process upon taking office. He anticipated receiving three offers from potential concessionaires by the end of summer, allowing the government to decide on the best course of action for airport management.

Regarding Air Montenegro, the national carrier, Radulović praised its outstanding financial performance, achieving a profit of 1.7 million euros last year. He commended the company’s strategic decision to lease two additional aircraft for the upcoming summer season, signaling growth and expansion in the airline’s operations.

Reflecting on the importance of having a national airline, particularly during the off-peak winter months, Radulović emphasized ToMontenegro’s role in maintaining connectivity with other countries. He expressed satisfaction with ToMontenegro’s performance and expressed optimism for its future endeavors.
