The executive director of Sustineri Partners, Biljana Braithwaite, said that the inaugural ESG Summit was a kind of turning point when it comes to the dialogue on the application of environmental protection and social community standards, sustainable development, and responsible corporate governance (ESG standards) in the region.

The event brought together more than 450 participants, distinguished guests: representatives of regional governments, international institutions, experts and business leaders from more than 150 companies, who showed their willingness to follow and adopt new standards and modern practices in the way they manage their business – Braithwaite announced.

She said that she is satisfied that Montenegro will continue to host representatives of regional governments, numerous companies, investors, world-renowned lecturers, innovators, business leaders and experts.

On behalf of the organizers, Braithwaite thanked the Government of Montenegro, as a strategic partner, for recognizing the importance of the Summit, which provides a regional platform for dialogue on the most important current global and regional sustainability issues and trends at the highest level.

We are witnessing that events of this type change the reputation of the entire region, which can become a desirable destination for responsible investments – concluded Braithwaite.

The representative of Porto Montenegro, Danilo Kalezić, added that the organizers are extremely satisfied with the results of the first held ESG Summit.

We heard some strong views, sent concrete messages, saw interesting leaders – Kalezić explained.

As Kalezić stated, Porto Montenegro is committed to sustainable development through environmental protection projects, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, limiting plastic and waste, and protecting local marine species.

We believe that it is important to raise awareness of these issues within the business community, and the ESG Summit is the ideal platform for this – Kalezić pointed out.
