Montenegro, Another solar power plant could soon be built in Cetinje

The company Solar Power from Podgorica has also shown interest in building a solar power plant in Montenegro, so another energy facility could soon be built in Cetinje.

This company is planning the construction of a solar power plant in the settlements of Velestovo and Prentin do, the total area of the site is approx. 1,295,540 m², and according to previously conducted analyzes submitted by the investor, it was determined that the potential amount of annual electricity produced from the solar power plant of total power is 213,965 MWh 150 MW.

At the last session, the government determined the urban technical conditions for the preparation of technical documentation for the construction of this solar power plant.

Prime Minister Dritan Abazović said at the session that interest in the construction of solar power plants is growing, and that we can expect the first megawatts already in the coming months.

As stated in the discussion, in accordance with the Law on Spatial Planning and Building Construction, until the adoption of the General Regulation Plan of Montenegro, and in order to encourage the construction of facilities for the production of electricity from renewable sources of the sun and other renewable sources, on land or facilities in the state or to private property, at the request of the owner of the land or buildings, urban planning and technical conditions can be issued by an act of the Government, and according to the previously obtained opinions of the state administration body responsible for environmental protection, agriculture and forestry, the administrative body responsible for the protection of cultural assets on which the land is located and legal entities responsible for the conditions of connection to the infrastructure.

– As all the necessary opinions have been obtained, the Government has given the green light for issuing the UTU requested by the Solar power company from Podgorica – the announcement concludes.
