In Montenegro last year there was a significant growth of companies registered in the sector of computer programs and games, which employed almost 30% of employees in the sector of creative industries.

This was announced at the beginning of the program of the national conference “Time of Creativity” in Kotor, which was marked by the opening presentation of Dragana Radević from the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Development of Montenegro, where statistical data was presented that the mapping of cultural and creative industries in Montenegro is extremely important .

– The mapping of cultural and creative industries in Montenegro is an undertaking whose end result, i.e. their quantification should serve as a starting point for decision-makers for monitoring the development of cultural and creative industries and guiding policies in the coming period – said Radević.

Radević also pointed out that limitations can be overcome by occasionally conducting specialized, methodologically well-designed research on a sample, where the extrapolation of the obtained results could characterize individual sectors, as well as the cultural and creative industries as a whole.

Speaking about the structure of business entities by sector for 2021, Radević stated that 23% are computer programs and games, and less than 20% are companies registered in advertising and market communications.

– In 2022, we see a significant growth of companies registering in the sector of computer programs and games – added Radević. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Media.
