The information that Kotor and Dumitor will be removed from the UNESCO list is not true, Minister of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism Ana Novaković Đurović said.

She also stated that she hopes that the state will receive a new Law on Waste Management by the end of the year, which will permanently change the ecological image of Montenegro.

– I think you followed that the director of the Environmental Protection Agency gave a correction that his statement was transmitted in the wrong way. It is not correct. Neither NP Durmitor, nor Kotor, based on any official document that we have in communication with UNESCO, is threatened with being removed from the list of world heritage – she said.

She pointed out that we need to be more serious about these topics.

– Such a decision is not made that way. It is communicated through reports. NP Durmitor is not on the red list. Nothing in the communication so far in the written reports of UNESCO says that Kotor and Durmitor are threatened by that scenario – she said.

She announced that the Ministry brought to an end the most difficult legal solution in chapter 27 in the negotiations with the EU.

– We received the green light from the EC and the new convocation of the assembly will receive it for adoption. I hope that by the end of the year the state will receive a new law on waste management, which will permanently change the ecological image of Montenegro – she stated.

Novaković Đurović said that considering the volume of work, there are never enough environmental inspectors.
