That mountain tourism is a development opportunity for the north of Montenegro is evidenced by the area of Komovi, which is listed in strategic documents as a very interesting and attractive destination. The picturesque areas, which for the most part belong to the municipality of Andrijevica, with their beauty and special natural benefits, attracted numerous visitors from the country and abroad this summer. This is confirmed by people who cruise in these areas in large numbers every day, pointing out that the whole area is extremely challenging, first of all because of the mountain peaks, the specific relief, the rich flora and the hospitable hosts.
– I came from Lyon to visit Komovi. I did not regret it, because it is very beautiful and challenging here. Everything is like from a fairy tale, especially the mountain peaks. This is a miracle of nature. A real paradise. When I climbed the exciting path to the top of the mountain, I felt proud, because it is not very easy to get there. I am also delighted with the hosts, who are very hospitable. I will be happy to visit these places again – tourist from France Mary Lappin said.
That these regions are indeed visited by a large number of lovers of untouched nature, the signatory of these lines was convinced, who with a group of tourists from different parts of the former Yugoslavia, passed by Mount Štavna, the home peak of Vasojević Kom, located at 2,461 meters above sea level. On that occasion, the visitors did not hide their enthusiasm for what they saw and experienced.
– Our ancestors originated from these regions. That’s why we had the desire to climb to the top of Komovi. That wish came true. We are enchanted by this beauty and the path itself, which seems to lead towards the sky. It is a special feeling to be on top of this mountain beauty. In a word, fantastic and unforgettable. We are only sorry that these beauties are no longer included in the development of Andrijevica itself, from which, as far as we can see, people are leaving en masse – emphasized the brothers Andrej and Relja Jovović from Belgrade.
Tourists who visit Komovi and local residents agree that the competent institutions should invest more in the modernization of the road infrastructure in this area and that by creating additional content, they should collect more income from tourism.
Favorite destination
The local administration also states that mountain tourism is a development opportunity for Andrijevica because, as they point out, among other things, Komovi is increasingly becoming a favorite destination for numerous tourists from different meridians.
– Special attention is drawn to mountain peaks, which become a meeting place for lovers of alpinism. From Trešnjevik, hiking trails lead to challenging peaks that extend above two thousand meters above sea level.
