The Japanese company JERA has expressed interest in communication with the Montenegrin Ministry of Energy to learn more about the country’s energy portfolio and explore potential collaboration models.
During the 54th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić met with Juki Kanii, the President and Global CEO of JERA, one of the world’s largest energy companies.
Spajić presented Montenegro’s energy potentials, emphasizing that the government is taking a strategic approach to energy transition and carefully considering potential partnerships.
“Energy is an important resource that Montenegro possesses. To fully utilize it for development, we need the best technologies and credible partners,” said the Prime Minister.
The President of JERA expressed interest in continuing communication with the Ministry of Energy to get a more in-depth understanding of the energy portfolio and discuss potential collaboration models.
The meeting was attended by Kazuo Sakairi, Corporate Vice President, and Executive and Financial Director.
JERA is one of the world’s largest energy companies, with a 50-50 ownership split between two Japanese state energy companies.
