Inflation in June 0.9% – Consumer prices up 7.5% compared to last year

The prices of personal consumption products and services, measured by the consumer price index, were 0.9 percent higher in June compared to May, according to Monstat data.
In June, compared to the same month last year, consumer prices were on average 7.5 percent higher.
– The biggest impact on the monthly inflation rate was the increase in prices in the groups of accommodation services, meat, fruit, vegetables, air passenger transport, restaurants, cafes and the like – the announcement states.
In the period from January to June, compared to the same period of the previous year, consumer prices were on average 11 percent higher.
Looking at the main groups of products and services according to the purpose of consumption, in June, compared to the previous month, growth was recorded in the groups restaurants and hotels by 6.9 percent, health by 2.3 percent, food and non-alcoholic beverages by 1.5 percent, recreation and culture 0.8 percent, furniture, household equipment and routine apartment maintenance and transportation 0.7 percent each, alcoholic beverages and tobacco 0.4 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels 0.3 percent.
The drop in prices was recorded in the clothing and footwear groups by 2.5 percent and other goods and services by 0.7 percent.
The prices of other products and services did not change significantly.
