Traffic update on Princess Ksenija highway: 1.57 million vehicles passed in 2024

Since the beginning of the year, 1.57 million vehicles have traveled on the Princess Ksenija Highway.

According to data from Monteput, the company managing the key section of the highway from Smokovac to Mateševo, traffic from July 28 to August 3 amounted to 91,380 vehicles.

In the previous year, 2.29 million vehicles used the highway, while in 2022, from its opening in mid-July, a total of 1.14 million vehicles passed through.

The Bar-Boljare priority section of the highway was officially opened on July 13, 2022, and was put into operation the following day.

For the first seven days, tolls were free. After that, the tolls are 1.5 euros for motorcycles, 3.5 euros for passenger cars, and 17 euros for trucks and buses.

The total length of the first section of the highway is 41.5 kilometers, including 20 bridges on the main route, nine bridges on interchange ramps, two overpasses, eight underpasses, 7.2 kilometers of concrete walls, and 16 twin-tube tunnels.

The section features four interchanges with toll booths connecting the highway to the existing road network: Smokovac, Pelev Brijeg, Veruša, and Mateševo.

The maximum speed limit is set at 100 kilometers per hour.
