During a meeting between Montenegro’s Ministers of Transport and Finance, Filip Radulović and Novica Vuković, and CRBC General Director Wang Lijun, it was revealed that Chinese companies are interested in constructing the second section of the Bar-Boljare highway.
Minister Radulović announced that the prequalification tender for the Mateševo-Andrijevica section is set to close on June 23, with the main tender expected to be launched in September, as reported by the Ministry.
“I am delighted to see Chinese companies eager to take on the construction of the second section from Mateševo to Andrijevica. I am confident that through a transparent public bidding process, adhering to EBRD standards, we will secure a contractor capable of meeting the challenge,” said Radulović.
Minister Vuković emphasized the importance of investors like CRBC for Montenegro’s development.
“Our country’s largest investment to date has been the construction of the first section of the highway from Smokovac to Mateševo. Additionally, our collaboration with the Chinese EXIM Bank has been of great significance,” Vuković remarked.
In addition to Chinese companies, several European firms have also shown interest in building the second section.
Wang Lijun noted that the completion of the first section from Smokovac to Mateševo has given them valuable experience in Montenegro.
“We are not only prepared to engage in road infrastructure projects but are also ready to undertake initiatives in other areas such as environmental protection,” said Lijun.
Ministers Radulović and Vuković are currently in China attending the 15th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum.
