Year-on-year inflation in July 6.9%, monthly price growth one percent

The prices of personal consumption products and services, measured by the consumer price index, in July compared to June of this year increased by one percent on average, according to Monstat data. Compared to the same month last year, prices are on average higher by 6.9%.

The biggest impact on the monthly inflation rate was the increase in prices in the accommodation service groups; milk, cheese and eggs; meat; restaurants, cafes and the like; tobacco; fuel and lubricant for motor vehicles; other devices, objects and products for personal care; solid fuels.

Consumer prices in the period from January to July, compared to the same period of the previous year, are on average higher by 10.3%.

According to Monstat, looking at the main groups of products and services according to the purpose of consumption, in July there was growth in the groups restaurants and hotels 8%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco 2.6%, health 2%, other goods and services 1.9% , and food and soft drinks 1.2%.

Prices also increased in the groups transportation 1.2%, furniture, household equipment and routine apartment maintenance 1%, as well as housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels 0.7%.

The drop in prices was recorded in the clothing and footwear groups by 5.1% and recreation and culture by 0.1%.

The prices of other products and services did not change significantly.
