The turnover of companies in Montenegro in 2022 amounted to 10.02 billion euros, as announced by Monstat.

The gross value of production in 2022 was 6.68 billion euros, intermediate consumption 3.81 billion euros, while gross value added amounted to 2.87 billion euros,” according to the Monstat announcement published at the end of last year. The largest share in turnover was made up of wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, amounting to 4.37 billion euros.

Monstat’s structural survey on the business operations of companies in Montenegro in 2022 states that the processing industry accounts for 1.1 billion, and construction accounts for 1.02 billion euros.

The aim of the structural survey on the business operations of companies is to calculate indicators necessary for the analysis of the structure of the activities of business entities, the structure of inputs and outputs of the production process, business success, and the competitiveness of economic entities.

Turnover, as explained by statisticians, includes calculated revenues from the sale of goods and services without value-added tax (VAT).

Gross value of production represents the market value of all produced goods and services.

Intermediate consumption at purchase prices is the value of products and services that are transformed, used, or consumed in the process of production. Gross value added represents the difference between the gross value of production and intermediate consumption.

Data for the compilation of structural business statistics (SBS) and the calculation of indicators are collected from administrative and statistical sources.

The most important administrative sources of data are the financial reports of companies and statistical annexes.
